Illuminati was formed in early 2001. None of us can quite remember how, but it has been traced to an idea first suggested by Richard in the Bell and Steelyard after a Woodbridge Choral Society concert (although he now denies all recollection of events).

We specialise in unaccompanied choral music; our repertoire has expanded from ‘Fa la la la’ and ‘Hey nonny no’, after it became clear that an audience can only bear so much, and now covers a wide range of sacred and secular pieces, from English madrigals to Italian motets and modern arrangements of traditional folksongs.
